CHARITY CYCLING CHALLENGE FROM LONDON TO CANTERBURY !
The annual Chaucer Challenge cycle ride will be taking place on Sunday, 14th September
2008, in aid of The Children’s Trust. A mixture of cycling clubs, cycling enthusiasts
and courageous cycling novices will take on the challenge of cycling over 75 miles
from London to Canterbury. The route follows the stunning Pilgrims’ Way including
the beautiful North Downs. The scenic ride is both challenging and exciting. Since
the fundraising event started 5 years ago, more and more cyclists have joined up
each year. Olympic and multiple world cycle champion Chris Hoy, MBE, who has taken
part in the ride, called it “a gruelling and exhilarating ride.”
Ceri Owens, Events Fundraiser at The Children’s Trust said: “We are asking for more
riders to take part this year to make this our biggest Chaucer Challenge yet. What
is really great about this event is the feeling of camaraderie between the riders,
and maybe some competition! The event will appeal to experienced road cyclists and
also novices who will see this as a personal challenge.”
Entry is £22.50 per cyclist, or £105 for a team of five. To join up to the Chaucer
Challenge - or for more details about sponsoring the event - please contact Ceri

disabilities and complex health needs.
