The British XC Series ran a test event at Dalby Forest last weekend in its bid to get into the world cup calendar in 2010. The event was a success overall with many saying the course was the best they had ridden in a long time but as those who have been to a WC will know, its not just the course that makes a venue and with its lack of space and facilities will it be enough to get the vote for 2010...

Apparently a water supply has all been agreed, there will be no campsite at the venue, the area where the campsite was for the BMBS will be for VIP & hospitality, but there are alot of good campsites within an easy ride of the venue. (I'd book early if I was you!). Also the small feild at the bottom of Medusa's Drop (amongst others) will be cleared of trees & be made into a spectator area. I for one hope Dalby gets it.

Infrastructure not good enough. Nuff said.
Great national venue though.

Doh!!!!
Proved wrong again. Dalby will be round 1 of the world cups next year.
But I bet Silverstone won't host the GP next year..........

I thought that they may be lacking abit of space for a world cup, but I'm sure that when the event goes ahead we'll be pleasently suprised at how it turns out. I rather Dalby than fort Bill, more variety in the course and much less of a bit*h to get too! Stroll On!
