Event management can be a thankless task. Everyone turns up without pre-entering causing queues at sign on; the organiser gets pulled left and right with minor problems. People expect luxuries such as toilets or even showers! The prizes are never good enough, the local dog walkers complain and tear down the course markings on race morning and to top it all, every one of us is an expert! I got Stephen Corbyn, virgin organiser of the Welsh Dragon Series to give us an interview and an insight into event management for the inexperienced.

Lee Williams

Lee Williams Cyclenoodle managed to catch up with up and coming Elite Cross Country Racer Lee Williams fresh after his win in the Welsh National Championships at Pontypool Park, South Wales. Lee has developed over the last few seasons from a shy retiring young racer who would often turn up to races in his Grey jogging bottoms, pull his old bike out of the car and quietly go about destroying most of the competition. Today he is very much a rising talent, sponsored, supported and competing on the World stage with the very best.

Burry Stander

Burry StanderAt 22 Burry Stander is living every cyclists dream, second in the world rankings, in the form of his life and riding for top Pro Mountain Bike team Specialized. He currently leads the under 23 world cup series, came 2nd in Andorra last year and it seems that South Africa have a potential world champion not too far away.

When he's not out training or racing, he loves nothing more than chilling at the beach or catching up with episodes of Top Gear! We caught up with the coolist guy in mountain biking!

Billy-Joe Whenman

Billy Whizz You have just had your biggest win to date in the London National Criterium, How did it feel to cross the line first in front of such a huge crowd?

At 1st I thought I had left my sprint to late, as Liam had a 200-yard lead on me into the last corner! So to pull 200yards out of the bag and get myself a bike length in front, well apart from wining my 1st national road race, and standing on that top spot in front of such a big crowd, Words cant explain it!! It’s Amazing! You know you’ve done your days work!!
